Yes. Since 2005 Professional instructors at the Niagara Kung Fu Academy have been helping kids who are restless, constantly distracted, have ADD, ADHD, or just have a lot of energy that they need to direct constructively. Educators across Niagara often recommend our training for parents who prefer not to medicate their kids (or want to medicate them less). Through Niagara Kung Fu's engaging classes, kids and parents discover a positive outlet to direct their energy. While focus is improved through Kung Fu activity, this focus quickly carries over to their behaviour at home and at school. School educators often tell us how they see great improvements in classroom behaviour even when a student has been in Kung Fu training for a short period of time.
Absolutely. We start with the saying "Confidence comes from the experience of success". Because Kung Fu Training is a personal journey, students compete only with themselves, not anyone else. Instructors encourage them to recognize their own strengths first, and help them see their own potential. Instructors are trained to make student progress fun, exciting, and visual, so students can recognize their progress. Once they see their progress they build up momentum. When this is accomplished students get the confidence to try new activities, talk to new people, step out of their comfort zone. Even parents of kids with harsh anxiety issues have seen massive improvement in behaviour at home and at school too!

"My grandson has been taking Kung Fu at Niagara Kung Fu Academy for over 2 years. I have noticed as time has moved on he demonstrated better focus, improvement with his self control and self confidence as well as accomplishing better grades in school. Brandon entered into the leadership program with the academy. From this program we have noticed an improvement with his ability to make friends and coordinate games with his friends giving each friend an option to choose a game of their choice. This character is a great improvement in his behaviour."

Most definitely; Kung Fu, aside from being a martial art, is also a lifestyle of self cultivation and positive self direction. Kung Fu literally means "Skill acquired after time and sacrifice". As such, students are taught that their progress is about more than just learning how to punch and kick. Progression in Kung Fu is dependent on the student's improvement at home with family, and at school as well. Ranks are awarded in class not only based on classroom effort, but also by the students progress in respect with family and self-discipline with school work.
"I just wanted to say how much Niagara Kung Fu Academy has really helped our whole entire family, especially my son .... the leadership program is an amazing thing that has completely helped him with his anxiety and his sensory processing to the point where it’s a different kid like a year later, it’s incredible, and my daughter who’s only 4 has so much self discipline, I don’t even – I don’t even know how it’s possible, so it’s done huge things for our family, for myself as well, so any adults out there, you guys really gotta do Kung Fu a well because it’s amazing for your health, for your mindset and I highly recommend it."
